Choosing the Right Fabric for Ethnic Silhouettes

Volume silhouettes need weight. An anarkali built in a 110 GSM fabric will collapse; the same pattern in a 160 GSM crepe will hold its bell beautifully.

Sarees, conversely, live and die on drape. Here the priority is fall over body — a satin or chiffon with low bending rigidity will pleat cleanly and sit at the shoulder.

For lehengas, consider the layers together. A structured base with a sheer overlay produces movement without bulk, which is why Mul Chiffon over Mossco Premium has become such a common pairing.

Always drape a full metre before committing. A swatch tells you texture; only a metre tells you fall.
